Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th, 1946 Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life through her vivid and far-ranging imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she was able to read or write. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. In the age of 11 she started singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. That following year, she made her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. While she was a local star while in the high school years, her ambitions were much bigger. The day after she graduated in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his television show that was syndicated. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. The show ended in 1974 as her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts.
