Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath, the romantic drama film The Piano. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career in The Piano. At age 11, she became the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played the polexia Aphrodisa girl on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
